1000 Words

Hello again-

It’s been a while… sorry to all of our adoring fans :) Haha, does anyone read this?

All is well, great actually, just busy!

They say a picture is worth a thousand words… so check out our gallery to catch up on the latest happenings!

What are you thankful for?

I am thankful for Zach’s first Father’s Day and for my daddy too :)

There’s two things I know for sure, she was sent here from heaven and she’s daddy’s little girl – Butterfly Kisses

Kind of like a blender…

I am the luckiest wife and mom :)

Yesterday was my first Mother’s Day.  Being a mom definitely makes me appreciate my mom more than ever. I am very lucky to have such a wonderful example.

This weekend we celebrated twice!  Saturday we had lunch with Zach’s mom at BJ’s Brewhouse- very tasty. Sunday my mom and brother came over to our house for lunch (restaurants are always too crazy on Mother’s Day!)  We grilled pizza! My dad is on a trip to Asia but called from Skype to say howdy.  Have you used Skype?  The video calls are awesome.  Caroline is fascinated by the light on the webcam.

Zach (and Caroline) gave me a Beaba Baby Cook for Mother’s Day.  It is an amazing 4-in-1 invention that is a steamer, blender, warmer and defroster to prepare fresh, healthy meals for baby. Caroline just started eating rice cereal and I have been really interested in making baby food for her.  It is healthier, fresher and just better than jarred baby food.

The best part about my gift is that when I unwrapped it Zach said, “I know it is kind of like a blender.” I said, “So?”  He then explained that he hoped I like the gift because of the blender scene in the Father of the Bride. In the movie, Brian gives Annie a blender for their 8 month anniversary so she can make her favorite shakes, but she sees it as a sign that he wants her to be a typical 1950′s wife and freaks out. I love my present more than ever because he thought of that movie and wanted to make sure I liked it.  I have been talking about making my own baby food since Caroline was born and can’t wait to get started.  I love you more than words Hubby :)

What are you thankful for? I am thankful for a wonderful first mother’s day and the blessing of my mom and all of the moms in my life.

May?!

It’s already May!

Caroline ate rice cereal for the first time. She didn’t love it or hate it at first- just funny faces and curious tongue. Pics coming soon.

We started running as a family. We are getting ready for a 5K on June 5th.  It feels good to run again! I haven’t run since before my liver resection in 2008.  Zach is feeling more like running since he has started allergy shots.  Caroline has a snazzy jogging stroller from my boss.  It’s nice to get out as a family and exercise.

I’m back to meal planning after a crazy, busy April.  Check out this great site- http://www.kraftrecipes.com/recipes/dinner/1Bag5Dinners/ Everything you need for the week fits in 1 shopping bag.  The recipes are easy and tasty. So far we have had the Classic One Dish Chicken Bake with Stuffing (with light ingredients- slightly healthier- maybe) and we made the Italian Chicken Tomato Pasta Toss (with wheat noodles) for lunch with Zach’s mom on Saturday. So far so good.

May has already been very productive. We cleaned the garage, started exercising, got back to meal planning, Zach finished the stone wall around our flower beds (now time to add flowers)!

What are you thankful for?  I am thankful for exercise, meal planning, family and being outside!
