New on jessandzach.shutterfly.com

Our gallery page http://jessandzach.shutterfly.com/ finally got a bit of an update!

New pics, a few new recipes and a style section.

I decided to start keeping track of some of my outfits and try to be fashionable so I don’t turn into a frumpy mom. :)
I was inspired by a friend, she has a gift and is always amazingly fashionable. Check out her blogs http://charmedvalerie.com/ and http://momstreetstyle.com/!  Send me your inspiration or favorite outfits. I need all the help I can get!

5 Dinners in 1 Hour!

Successful first week of making 5 dinners in 1 hour. It took me 1 hour and 18 minutes because I had a helper. :) Checkout http://5dinners1hour.blogspot.com/ I made the free trial week- looks yummy!

Week 1 with a helper :)

The free trial week had a good variety- bean and cheese quesadillas (we added chicken) [SO TASTY and the leftovers were great for lunch today (I took the filling out of the tortilla to store overnight)], Asian slow cooker pork chops [Delicious and nice to come home from work to a full meal!] , breakfast casserole for dinner, mini meatloaf, turkey croissants (added avocado). It is $5 for a …month of menus (5 per week). We wasted at least that much by going out to eat or throwing out unused ingredients. You can substitute ingredients and you have 2 days unplanned so you can do whatever you want. The one hour is prep time and then the day of the meal you cook it, but will only have 1 dirty dish and no wasted time figuring out what to eat or if you have the ingredients. It also gives recommendations for a side dish. The shopping list is well organized too. So far I am a big fan and we’ve only eaten 2 of the meals! We got into a rut of having the exact same things…. spaghetti, tacos, frozen pizza, out to eat. Blah. Then a friend recommended http://5dinners1hour.blogspot.com/ Thanks Clarissa! Happy Cooking!

Very Hungry Caterpillar Birthday!

It is hard to believe that our “Very Hungry Caterpillar” is turning one on Wednesday (December 22)! We celebrated on Saturday with family and friends. It was fun to decorate from one of her/my favorite books. We even had all of the food that the caterpillar ate! A big thanks to The Jenny Layne Bakery for making the day extra sweet! Pics and videos in the gallery.

Merry Christmas!

Howdy-
It’s Caroline!   Mommy and Daddy let me write the Christmas letter this year!   Can you believe that I am almost a year old? I was born December 22, 2009 11:50 pm; 8 pounds 11 ounces 20.5 inches… I’m growing fast and so curious about the world. I’m usually pretty sweet and like to show off my tricks and give everyone a workout by crawling super fast and pulling up on everything! Pics & videos JessAndZach.com
I’ve gotten to travel a lot to meet family and friends all over DFW, Houston, Midland and College Station. I even got to go to my first Texas A&M football game at Kyle Field- Future Class of 2032!
Daddy is still working at BNSF Railway (purchased by Warren Buffet and Berkshire Hathaway!) He stays busy working as a Manager for Network Control Systems but gets to come home for lunch a lot! I love our playtime and Daddy/Daughter story time every night.
Cowtown Photo Booths is a new business adventure. Check out cowtownphotobooths.com People rent the photo booth for weddings, parties and corporate events! I’ve seen lots of fun/crazy pictures! Spread the word to your friends!
Mommy is working part time in the Career Services department at Westwood College. I’m glad she gets to be a part time stay at home mom! Nana watches me when she is at work. We have fun reading and taking walks!
I love meeting Oma for dinner, taking trips to the Benzing Homestead, playing with friends  and exploring the world!
This year has been full of blessings. Remember to take time to celebrate Jesus’ Birthday! Hark the herald angels sing- glory to the newborn King!
Merry Christmas and Happy 2011!

Love, Caroline Smith
